Dr. Leah Lawson
Dr. Leah Lawson is passionate about helping you move better, feel better, and get back to doing what you love through a combination of hands-on chiropractic techniques and therapies, including soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, cupping, scraping, and functional movement taping to individually tailor treatments to each patient.
Following several significant injuries while playing intercollegiate rugby at the university level, Dr. Leah found such relief through chiropractic care that she decided to become a chiropractor herself. After completing her Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology at Western and graduating with honours from New York Chiropractic College, Dr. Leah also earned her Masters Degree in Anatomy and Physiology Instruction and has completed the Neurofunctional Acupuncture program at McMaster University.
Dr. Leah’s clinical experience includes the specialized treatment of veterans with complex injuries at the Miami Veterans Affairs Hospital. More recently Dr. Leah has been working with patients at clinics in Barrie and Collingwood where she has successfully treated injuries from hockey, soccer, basketball, and golf, to gardening, manufacturing and office work, and everyday life.
A hockey player since age 4, Dr. Leah still loves the game and after years of playing at competitive levels she still enjoys playing and being a referee in women’s leagues. Beyond hockey, some of her favourite activities include camping, fishing, snowshoeing, and hiking with her golden retriever-lab mix named Grayson. Dr. Leah grew up in Barrie, spent her summers in cottage country, and is now excited to be calling cottage country her home.
