Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine is a form of primary health care that aims to identify and treat the root cause of disease. Each individual is unique and as such deserves a plan that is tailored specifically to them and addresses all aspects of health, including physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Dr. Emmalee Maracle M.Sc, ND is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario. As a Naturopathic Doctor, she uses natural, evidence-based treatments to optimize health, prevent disease and get you back to living your best life. Dr. Maracle believes that sustainable health starts with the fundamentals, including the foods you eat, good quality sleep, stress management and regular movement. She utilizes all of the naturopathic modalities including diet and lifestyle counselling, nutraceuticals, botanical medicine and acupuncture to create an individualized treatment. She believes in an integrative approach to healthcare and works together with other health professionals to ensure her patients are getting the best possible care for their physical, mental and emotional health. Dr. Maracle has a special interest in gastrointestinal health (IBS, Chron’s, Ulcerative Colitis, Food Sensitivities etc.), women’s health (Uterine fibroids, endometriosis, PMS, PCOS etc.) and weight management.

Initial Naturopathic Consultation

The initial naturopathic consultation involves an in-depth inquiry of your chief concerns, your previous medical history, your family history, and a review of body systems. This is an opportunity for me to get to know you and the details of all aspects of your health. Specific testing may be recommended depending on the presenting concerns and a treatment plan may be commenced.

45 Minute – $125

2nd Naturopathic Consultation

The second naturopathic consultation involves the evaluation of the progress of treatment. An age specific well-person check-up is performed, including any physical examinations. The treatment plan may be altered depending on findings.

30 Minute – $85

Follow-Up Naturopathic Consultation

Each follow-up consultation involves a re-evaluation of the patient’s primary concerns. New concerns will also be assessed and the treatment plan will be altered accordingly.

30 Minute – $75

Acupuncture/ Cupping

Acupuncture treatments are based on a Traditional Chinese Medicine intake that includes a tongue and pulse diagnosis. Depending on the concern, a typical acupuncture protocol includes weekly sessions for a minimum of 6 weeks. Acupuncture can be effective in a variety of concerns including menstrual irregularities, anxiety, fertility, muscle and/or joint pain, migraines, and digestive concerns. Cupping may be used in combination with acupuncture or may be done as a stand-alone therapy.

Lab Testing

Lab Testing: Blood work will be customized to meet the health goals of each individual. Lab tests can provide valuable insight and can help to guide effective naturopathic treatments. Whether you are looking to monitor your overall health, the health of a specific organ system or the progression of treatment, we can determine your unique lab testing needs.   • Common specialty testing performed: Food sensitivity testing, salivary female/male hormonal panel, adrenal panel, thyroid panel, dried urine test for comprehensive hormones (DUTCH), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) testing, comprehensive stool analysis, organic acid testing (OAT)
  • Common standard blood work performed: complete blood count with differentials, fasting blood glucose, HbA1C, fasting insulin, fasting cholesterol panel, liver enzymes, kidney function tests, iron panel, thyroid panel, and sex hormones.
